The Department of Physics, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Dr. M.G.R. Educational & Research Institute University, Off Campus Arni, successfully organized a Three-Day International Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Advanced Functional Materials” through online mode from October 15 to October 17, 2025.
The objective of this FDP was to bring together academicians, researchers, and professionals from various disciplines to discuss the recent developments, emerging trends, and potential applications of advanced functional materials in science and technology.
The event received an overwhelming response with more than 500 registrations from faculty members, research scholars, and industry professionals across India and abroad, highlighting the program’s academic relevance and global reach.
The technical session featured an enlightening lecture by Dr. V. Harikrishnan, Postdoctoral Fellow, IMDEA Nanociencia, Madrid, Spain, on the topic “Green, Clean and Affordable Magnets.”
The second day of the FDP featured a thought-provoking technical session by Dr. Tarek Bachagha, Professor, University of Sfax, Tunisia, on the topic “Shape Memory Alloys.”
The final day of the FDP featured a technical session by Dr. S. Suresh, Professor, Department of Physics, Saveetha Engineering College, Chennai, on the topic “Spectroscopic Insights in Material Science”.
The FDP concluded with the Valedictory Session, where participants shared their positive feedback and expressed appreciation for the organizers and speakers. The event came to a close with expressions of gratitude to the university management, organizing committee, and all resource persons for their continued support and contribution to the program’s success.
